A long end of the week in Morocco to jump into the core of southern Morocco. Find the cathedral of the gorges, a beautiful rock of the Atlas named and seen its shape that resembles a Cathedral. It is a pleasant destination for trekking fans. This four day trip takes you Marrakech, Telouète, Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, Skoura, Valley of roses, Boutaghrar, Gorges Dades, Gorges Toudra, Tamtatouchte, Agoudal, Imilchil, les Lacs, La Cathédrale rocheuse, Zaouia Ahansal , Ait Bouguemez, Ouzoud ending your trip in Marrakech.
Tour details
DAY 1:
Marrakech, Telouète, Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, Skoura, Valley of roses, Boutaghrar.
We will take off from Marrakech at 7 AM, via the Tichka pass (2260m height). We will arrive to Telouète, visit the Kasbah, which was the summer home for the Pasha “Glaoui”, then the Ait Benhaddou village and its beautiful Kasbahs, a peaceful place built in the 16th century and classified as world heritage in 1987, a cinematographic village that witnessed the birth of many movies. Later on, the visit to the studio Atlas at Ouarzazat’s entry, and after lunch, you will get to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt before we leave to Skoura, you will enjoy the splendid palm grove and the valley of roses on the way to Boutaghrar, a beautiful village and a starting point for the ascension of M’goun (4071m). Diner and bed at a hotel.
DAY 2:
Boutghrar, Gorges Dades, Gorges Toudra, Tamtatouchte, Agoudal, Imilchil.
We will take a little detour to regain the valley of Dades that we will go along with, over villages and beautiful scenery until we arrive to the gorges where high and mighty ocher cliffs stand as a proof of Mother Nature’s greatness. Tinghir will be the next stop of our trip, with its own palm grove and gorges offering the best challenging cliffs for the climbing lovers. Finally the road to Imilchil will take us through the highest pass of the high-Atlas (Tizi n Tigherghizine 2700m) and the highest inhabited village in Morocco that goes by the name of Agoudal at 2300m.
DAY 3:
Imilchil, les Lacs, La Cathédrale rocheuse, Zaouia Ahansal.
After arriving to Imilchil, we will discover two wonderful lakes, where the purity and clarity of the atmosphere along with the diversity of an ancestral culture will bring you enlightenment and inner peace. After leaving this magical place, we will dive again through the mountains, passing by the lake Ben El Widane, to reach the rocky cathedral, a region where the abundance of water, generosity of the land, and the hospitality of its people give new meanings to life, full of simplicity and peace, representing the core of the deep and authentic Morocco. And the night will be spent in Zaouiat Ahansal.
DAY 4:
Zaouia Ahansal, Ait Bouguemez, Ouzoud, Marrakech.
After a short visit of Zaouit Ahansal, we will head towards Bouguemez, the starting point for many hiking and mountain related activities such as the ascent of M’goun (4071m). The lifestyle and scenery is truly fascinating. Before arriving to Demnat, the natural bridge and dinosaur traces welcome you, while we continue our way towards the Ouzoud waterfalls, where nature is expressing its beauty with rainbows and its power by the angry song of the immense waterfalls that are usually compared to the Niagara Falls. A place you will never forget. After enjoying such paradisiac place, we will return to Marrakech with intense feelings and carved memories.
WHAT TO BRING
You need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.
We are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a check list:

- Lightweight waterproof over-trousers / rain-pants
